Maria Flannery O'Boyle's story: Winner of WaterWipes^® Pure Foundation Fund Winner 2023

I am nominating my PHN Maria O Boyle in Ballina, County Mayo as she is superb in her role. I had my second baby seven weeks ago and from the day I got home, Maria has been in touch on a daily basis, calling and checking up on both my baby and I. She always had time to stop and make sure I was doing OK too and still does seven weeks later, whether by phone or in person. She is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to anything to do with babies and being a lactation consultant she has been such an amazing support for me and for other mothers on our breastfeeding journeys. She is very practical in her advice and is always at the end of the phone any time of day. Not only is she busy checking up on all us new mothers and babies, she also runs a breastfeeding/mother and baby group in Ballina once a week, and its popularity in the numbers of mothers and babies in attendance tells everything you need to know about the group. Maria makes time for each and everyone of us at this group and while I'm only attending it a few weeks, I feel so comfortable talking with these other mothers and Maria. She is so supportive and non-judgemental and full of encouragement. Every new mother needs a Maria as their PHN!! She is a wonderful lady who definitely deserves the recognition for going above and beyond in her role.
