They provide gentle cleansing for the most delicate newborn skin and can even be used on premature babies.

WaterWipes contain just two ingredients, 99.9% high purity water and a drop of fruit extract. They are dermatologically tested and fragrance free to help reduce the risk of drying out the skin and the potential development of contact or allergic dermatitis.

WaterWipes are 100% biodegradable* and home compostable wipes meaning parents and healthcare professionals no longer need to compromise between protecting the integrity of infant skin and protecting the planet.

WaterWipes have also been clinically tested to lower incidence and shorten duration of nappy rash, with both the BaSICS and Utah hospital clinical studies showcasing these findings in full-term and preterm babies.1,2

What makes WaterWipes different to other baby wipes?

The water used within WaterWipes is what makes the product unique. The water passes through a seven-step purification process that uses a series of filters to remove impurities, soften and purify the water. This purifying process makes the water significantly purer than cooled boiled water and produces a unique product that effectively cleanses the skin, without the need for several additional cleansing ingredients.

WaterWipes has global accreditation from healthcare providers worldwide.

WaterWipes are recommended by midwives and other healthcare professionals worldwide and have become the preferred wipe for many Neonatal Intensive Care Units throughout Ireland, the US, Australia and New Zealand.

  • 97% of midwives and health visitors in the UK, aware of the ‘purity’ credentials of WaterWipes would recommend it2

  • 91% of German midwives surveyed recommend WaterWipes3

  • 97% of midwives surveyed in Ireland recommend the use of WaterWipes4

The WaterWipes story

WaterWipe was developed by Edward McCloskey.

As a new father, Edward was searching for a safer, and purer alternative to standard baby wipes full of chemicals for his baby daughter, who suffered from sensitive skin and nappy rash. He wanted to create a product that was as mild and pure as using cotton wool and water, but as convenient as a wipe and safe for the most delicate skin.

Following many years of extensive scientific research and testing, WaterWipes were launched in Europe in 2010 by Edward’s company, Irish Breeze. WaterWipes are now available in 60 countries worldwide.
