The Soapberry fruit produces a range of natural cleansers called ‘saponins’. This property helps water to dissolve dirt and remove it from surfaces so that it can be rinsed away. It is a natural cleanser that has been used for hundreds of years, but it is not as strong or aggressive as purpose-designed heavy duty synthetic soaps which can leave your skin dry. That’s why our WaterWipes Textured Clean are more effective at cleaning. They are also perfectly safe for cleaning your baby’s face and hands, as well as their bottoms as they are designed to be gentle on baby’s skin. WaterWipes Textured Clean is also certified by The Vegan Society as well as awarded the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance.

Soapberry is also called soap nut. Is there an issue with nut allergies?

Soapberry is a fruit that comes from the soap nut tree. Soapberry or soap nut are the same ingredients, just with different names. Soapberry does not contain peanut or tree nut (walnut, almond, hazelnut, cashew, pistachio and brazil). Please let me assure you that WaterWipes Textured Clean are soy-free, peanut-free, nut-free and legume-free. WaterWipes Textured Clean are free of any GMO’s and are safe from cross contamination.

At present, alternative recyclable films that have the same hermetic properties are not readily available, but we are currently trialling some options and are confident we will find a solution that protects the purity of our product and protects the environment."

Because WaterWipes On The Go wipes don’t use chemicals to "bind" the liquid to the wipes, the water can sometimes migrate to the bottom of the pack. To remedy this, with the sticker properly resealed, turn your pack of WaterWipes upside down and then gently squeeze and massage the pack for a few seconds. This will quickly redistribute the water more evenly throughout the pack and get the wipes back to the same consistent wetness that they had when they were made in our cleanroom process.

I have lots of allergies and needed wipes I could use after major surgery until I could have a full shower, and these were great. We've ended up using these wipes for much more than just nappy changes: they've been used for messy hands and faces at mealtimes, wiping up spills, and even a quick refreshing wipe for us parents. Love the fact that they're vegan, more eco-friendly than other wipes (box is recyclable and wipes themselves biodegradable - although the plastic on the wipes themselves isn't recyclable). The individual packs keep the wipes moist (we've never had a pack dry out before we have used it up). My only gripe is that it can be very difficult to take out one wipe at a time - you do sometimes end up with a clump coming out. I've tried both the textured and non-textured versions and would definitely recommend the textured as they're still gentle on skin but pick up more.
