Nominations are now open!
If you are a healthcare professional working in the UK or Ireland and would like to nominate yourself or a colleague, read more below. If you are a new or expectant parent, you can also nominate a healthcare professional in the UK or a nurse/midwife in Ireland involved in your pre or post-birth journey here.
The COVID-19 health crisis has highlighted the importance of human connection. The pandemic has opened people’s eyes to the dedication of our healthcare heroes who have gone above and beyond to provide support, compassion and care for others.
A whole host of nurses, midwives and healthcare professionals are involved in the pregnancy, birth and post-natal journey. These are the hands that touch the lives of expectant and new parents, both physically and emotionally. From the first scans and antenatal care; to the hands that deliver the baby, care for a premature baby and support parents and newborns when they leave the hospital. These are the hands that bring so many lives into the world. That is why WaterWipes want to recognise and celebrate the incredible work of these professionals – to put faces and names to these hands and to tell the remarkable stories of the lives they have touched.
Both the winning healthcare professionals from the UK and a nurse or midwife in Ireland will receive:
£2,500 (UK) or €2,500 (Ireland) for their department to continue to improve the care of parents and babies. For example, purchase equipment, provide resources for parents, fund training, improve practice / care or support further research relating to pregnancy, baby care and neonatal care.
