Given the extremely difficult circumstances our healthcare heroes are working in, WaterWipes is delighted to have supported the RCSI on this important study and proud that the use of WaterWipes helped reduce the occurrence of Facial Pressure Injuries in frontline COVID-19 healthcare workers when wearing PPE.
The study which was carried out on 300 frontline staff members and led by researchers from the RCSI, found that prior to using the products, 29% developed a Facial Pressure Injury, whereas after using the product bundle, staff were five times less likely to develop an injury when wearing PPE, with only 8% developing a Facial Pressure Injury.
Supporting healthcare heroes
The RCSI chose WaterWipes as they wanted to include a gentle and pure wipe for the staff to clean their faces with – both before they applied their PPE and after it was removed.
The water used in WaterWipes is ultra-pure and goes through a 7-step purification process to soften it and remove all the impurities. The water in the wipes helps cleanse the skin, without the need for additional cleansing ingredients, and without leaving any residue behind.
We are really proud to have been part of this study to support frontline workers
